The upfront cost is higher, typically 20–40% more than pressure-treated wood. But when you factor in zero maintenance costs over 20+ years (no staining, sealing, or board replacements), composite is usually cheaper in the long run.
Composite can be warmer than wood in direct sunlight. However, newer capped products have improved heat dissipation significantly. We can recommend lighter colors and shaded designs to minimize heat retention.
All three are excellent choices. Trex offers the best value, TimberTech has the most realistic wood grain texture, and AZEK (PVC) is the most premium with superior moisture resistance. We'll help you choose based on your priorities and budget.
It's not designed to be painted or stained, and that's the point. The color is integrated throughout the material or in a protective cap layer. Choose your color upfront and enjoy it for decades without refinishing.
A simple rinse with a garden hose handles most dirt. For tougher stains, use warm soapy water and a soft-bristle brush. No power washing needed, and definitely no staining or sealing.
